Matching records kept externally via the Reference field

Some users want to store data external to GENP. This may be data the user has kept for many years in their own structured computer filing system.

For example, some users keep data in a Microsoft Access database.

How do you match records in databases kept externally, with the data within GENP?

This is where the Query Manager assists.

One of the fields that can be exported from the Query Manager is the individual Reference field.

If you store in the Reference field the identifier used in the external database then matching can take place.

So you can then generate a Report from the Query Manager. For example, in Microsoft Excel format. You can then import this file into Microsoft Access and join them together on the Reference field.
